Without reading your long post I would say 13.d5! Bxd5? 14.Nxd5 Qxd5 15.Bb5+! Qxb5 16.Re1+ is an instant forced win.

15.Bb5+ is not a !

There is a much better move which we will go over tomorrow. I mentioned that in my comments on the previous page.

I'm waiting for Loki74, MoneyMaker, and khan and then we can proceed and finish this game off and start the next one. 1 more day guys.

My comments and the answer was in the post after that.

I feel bad at admitting this, but I had to look at the 2nd puzzle for a few minutes. I imagine most people found it within the first couple of seconds because even after I found the solution, (or rather I believe I found), I couldn't believe it didn't reveal itself immediately. 😛

Is this a Paul Morphy game? Good thread Rahim, like to see this sort of thing on RHP, a good read and people appreciate the effort.

I'm a 1700 (almost!) player and that took me 10 minutes!

I was working on a rather elaborate "***"....finally, 9 min later I find out it doesn't work....

That makes me feel good! I was probably working on the same thing you were at first. I was so concerned about winning material that I almost didn't see the win!

i got mate, but it took too long, so i had to send another solution.

I actually did the second one, I sent Rahim an answer that gave white a comfortable material advantage (took about 5 seconds to find), he then replied saying forced mate was possible - so I found it (Maybe 30 seconds to a minute to find?) and he didn't reply...
