Have hundreds of chess books...most of them out of date.
Have several chess sets but use only one, (Staunton design).
Own a really ornate chess set given to them by a relative, that is never used.

When I had the idea for this thread, I knew immediately that someone- like Bigbaddog- would jump in with the "engine" comment. You beat him to it--good for you !

Out of date chess books are the best... none of that meaningless percentage-of-a-pawn computer "analysis", it's all honest, hand-written, hand-explained human strategy.

My first chess set was sent to me from my brother when he was in 'Nam. Still have it somewhere. I also don't eat quiche!
