I was wondering how many chess players remember all their moves from the games they played. After a OTB tournament of 7 games i am able to play out all my 7 games fairly easily from memory. Bobby Fischer once played in a blitz tournemnt of 20 games and after reeled off all 20 games from memory. I might be able to understand this because fischer was known to play the same openings all the time so he probably knew the positions in the blitz games before and noticed the opponents inaccuracies. But to do this with 20 blitz games like fischer did is amazing!

I can usually recall a few of my recent games, and the openings, critical middlegame and endgame positions from several more. If I play through a GM game 3-5 times, I can usually do so from memory for a couple of weeks. I suspect that with a bit of discipline, I could easily keep all the moves of several dozen games in my accessible memory.
