It must have been a damn long list.

I am sure marrauder will keep us up to date as the self appointed "witch hunter" of the site.

Maybe... looks like IronMan31 was top of the line in his time... what a warped mind.

If memory [of the removed players list] serves, fernando JP vasquez and thePO were banned for multi-account abuse, not engine use.

Yet another fun consequence of the list being abolished. Now people will just assume every banned name is an engine user, even though the majority of them are 3a.

I wasn't around at the time... IronThing's queen traps every game were clearly an engine though. I mean, come on.

The two aren't mutually exclusive; they were listed on the list as 3(a) but anyone who did in depth analysis of their games knew they were engine cheats. 3(a) is an easier call though.

The people who joined when the Game Mods were in place have no idea how it was like pulling teeth to get the Site Admins to finally put in a Game Mod system.

James Woodley, BTW though he was only one of several who was outed as an engine cheat in the public forums.

Yes I remember what it was like. I too was a witch hunter at that time, it had gone far enough......anyone with an IQ slightly above freezing point could tell that James was cheating and still they said we shouldnt post the proof in the forums and that it was bad for the site. pfff I think time proven them wrong.

Can you imagine what would have happened if IM31 was removed without having a banned list or an official announcement?

If the hope is that not having a banned list will mean less discussion of bannings, it is almost surely a forlorn one.

It would have been madness.

I think this thread makes the second point QED.
