I think he meant that it's too damn cold to play chess outside in most of Russia...it certainly is in the winter, but Russians are used to it, I suppose.
I like playing chess in a nice cozy indoor mall.

Thats great. From the scale of immigration here I was thinking it was only all the Russians that wanted to live in England.

Mind you as most of them are millionaires and they own all the football clubs perhaps we shouldn't complain too much.

Thats because you are all too busy sitting around drinking "tea".

... but seriously when I was in Bodrum I say loads of people drinking tea and playing chess in the street cafes which is better than in the parks.

People play chess in MacArthur Park in Los Angeles, but it's a very sketchy park with gangsters and stuff. Not very safe.

I grew up in Los Angeles and played in MacArthur Park in the 50's, it was a great place to feed ducks, etc. That was before things went bad.
