Also: I have been sent a waist coat from the organisers of the
2009 World Visually Impaired Championship for covering their event.

So I'm going to look just spiffing wearing this - simply spiffing.
He should be - I think he lost his first game though.
They have turned the entire City Chambers over to us chess players.
We all have to wear security badges (I've customised mine). We
are seeing places that tourists and TV cameras never see.
I sat behind the Lord Porvost's Desk and played over a few games.
Originally posted by greenpawn34young Carlsen has lost his first game? how could this be? is this a real setback, what happens, is it like once you are defeated your out?, or winner stays on? I hope Motwani wins, he plays some real original chess.

Originally posted by greenpawn34i read in my Fischer book that the masters comment on the moves, is this the case? or are you the one who must comment upon it?
There is a long way to go. I'd like Motwani or McNab to win it.
Think hot favourite has to be Rowson.
I'm doing the demo board tomorrow - I get to choose my game,
think I'll pick Motwani's game or Carlson. For a laugh might
choose very bottom game. I'll see how I feel.
I've been asked to bring my demo board and "do my thing."
for the spectators.
I want to do it outside the playing hall in the High St.
I could receive the moves via morse code. I know morse code,
my WPM is 10.
Ruxton & Rowson think it would be fun if I just made up a game
to show the tourists (there are 1000's of them about).
Think I'll do that. Anything for a laugh.

Originally posted by greenpawn34yes what a beautiful Motwani special! awesome game, almost Morphy/Fischer like in its beautiful simplicity! very instructive for us noobs as well, for example who would not have moved to protect the b pawn with a time wasting b3 or something! also black loses time through the exchange of bishops further magnifying his lead in development, yep pawn dude, keep em coming!
Keith is doing the utube commentary on the Motwani-Grant
Round 2 (today) game.
