Streetcleaner - excellent - I'll tell him later on today.
One lad in the -1500 section was caught sneaking into the analysis room
to look and anlyse an ending he was actually playing - he was caught
and his opponent was awarded the game.
It would have been good if he denied it because I was taking a picture
of someone else and in the background ...[text shortened]... g to name & shame on the Corner - might lose him to
chess forever but he may be getting a ban.
Originally posted by greenpawn34I assume you drew with Hebden in the blitz as he seemed to be drawing with everyone in the last few games. How about Summerscale, can you remember any of your games against him?
Last day of Scottish Championship posted.
Games - pics - silly pics - even sillier than usual pics.

Hi Chubby Cheeks.
Just logged back to say Ruxton has got out of his stinky pit and
did his last commentary (with hangover - weakling).
So have added link to last Corner.

it's the last round Mark Hebden draw - a fighting tooth and nail draw.
Had a few emails saying that the trap the GM fell into is one
of my jokes and one guy have even tried to get a hidden message
looking for anagrams I've hidden in the players I mention who have
also fallen for the same trap. (there are none).
Seemingly the main site with the proof is down (they must be updating)
This actually happened on Board 1 between the two GM's.
Cannot recall how I got on v Hebden and Summerscale.
(well I can but I'm not going to talk about it).
It was being beamed live to a giant screen in the analysis room
were about 30 players were getting a cups of tea/coffee.
A handful of under 1400's spotted it first - everyone ignored them
and then it slowly sunk in.
Just before the games started I managed to get onto the computer and
had Chandler Cornered displayed for about 10 minutes.
(The sprayed Ferarri picture).
A bloke called Dave Goddard thought this was me messing about
and could not believe it.
There were a few rumblings that perhaps it was done on purpose
to ensure one of the board one players took first prize.
It crossed my mind till I saw Panchanathan a few minutes later.
He was battered.
And anyway I'm sure they could have come up with a better not so
obvious way than that.
I spoke with him after the game.
He was in a terrible situation. he had just played the worst move
of his life (again! - he's fallen for it before) and everyone thinks
he did it on purpose.
You see that sort of thing in blitz, not from a GM in 40/2 hours with
£1,000+ at stake. The is hope for us all.
It is like that old saying that if you got an infinate number of monkies and gave them an infinate number of typewriters then one would produce the works of shakespeare.
Mind you, i think we can be a little harsh on people for 'falling' for tricks in the game - 90% of chess games are won or lost by somebody missing a tactic so it is not as if people should be expected to see everything at every point of the game, even if they are a master.
