I think the second bishop move was trying to move white. In actuality, I don't think the moves are valid without move numbers. Ruling?

I've got a message off for Varq to see what he makes of this... I didn't see any ... before his move so perhaps you are right?

Not sure... lets find out. Game on hold.

Hang on a sec, in your post Phla, you have the move:
22. f3
whereas if you take a look at Otis' move it was:
22. Bf3
That should clear up any confusion and make (I hope) a sensible move.

[b]White to Move!

White's in a tough position. I hope this helps. I don't see another really good move.
Position before move: r1q4k/ppp2rpp/2n5/8/3B1nb1/2P2B2/P1Q2PPP/3R1RK1 w - - 0 22

23. Qe4
Position after move:
r1q4k/ppp2rpp/2n5/8/3BQnb1/2P2B2/P4PPP/3R1RK1 b - - 0 23

Black to move.

Yes, white was stuck anyway. Can I just make the next 2 moves?
24. gxh3 bxf3
Of Course it's White's move after that, but I believe those moves are preordained.

White should concede. A kamakaze attack
25. bg7+ may save if .. rxg7?, but the better move would be .. kxg7, leaving the bishop fork to remain unanswered.

but I'd place the moves as follows:
25. Qe3 bxd1
26. rxd1

Leaving this FEN:
r1q4k/ppp2rpp/2n5/8/3B4/2P1Q2P/P4P1P/3R2K1 b - - 0 26

I realize I violated some rules, but I can't imagine a realistic variation on this path. Comments?

And, if agreed, black moves.

I disagree, unless these moves are absolutely forced, the game will continue with one white move

If White won't move or more White players come in to say it is over it is over... and we can all take a look at the game and talk about it!

Oops... I'm sorry about my previous post. I (stupidly) had a white pawn at H2.
Heh. And copying and pasting the moves into Winboard works just as well as the FEN. Nicer, because you have the moves 🙂. (I only wish someone had mentioned that 🙂

Still, here's the FEN
r1q4k/ppp2rpp/2n5/8/3BQ1b1/2P2B1n/P4PPK/3R1R2 b - - 0 24

I guess I might use Fen for a puzzle... but I like to see how things get where they are in a chess position if at all possible.

White is in a lot of trouble... but anyone can mess up or not make "The best move" in a game like this.
