i've not been playing long myself but I believe that stalemate is a draw, not a win.🙂

Hi Wolfbynyte,

A stalemate is simply a draw due to your opponent not having any legal moves. Unfortunately stopping the king in his tracks (no legal moves available) is a bad thing if your opponent has no other piece or pawn that can legally move.

Sorry bud.

The good news is you won't let this happen again for a very long time. Maybe never! There's no better way to prevent stalemating your opponent in the future than to let it happen in a game you should have won. The same thing goes for getting mated on your back rank. One time is all it takes. 🙂

Did u see that it was a win if you just played 42. Rh7 b2 43. Bg7#?

Do u know about the other rules? En Passant? Rules for Castling? Draw by Repitition? 50 move rule? Very important to know those fundamentals.

All those I know and use.

I knew about stalemate as well, just didn't know that it counted against the person who still had legal moves.

That's why I said "thought" it was a win.

You are right, it's a draw.

Yeah, I saw that after as well.

I was on a mission to clear the board. Oh, well.
