From my (White's) 11th move, I felt that I had a very strong position for a Kingside combination of some kind in Game 761570. Somehow it didn't pan out, and by Black's 15th move I felt my Kingside attack had fizzled. I came back strong and my opponent had to fight for the draw, but I still have been wanting for a really long time to ask people, especially paultopia (R.I.P.?) who like figuring out tactics to check and see if I missed something.
Was there anything there? Any pretty combinations? I had all the positional elements for one I think...

Really? Black offered the draw. What mate are you referring to?
I also fail to see how 26. Be6 would win. What about 26...Rd8?
Im sure Rd8 would be met by Qxc7 :-)

i would have liked to see f4!, that move was begging to be played for about three moves until black beat you to the punch with f5 changing the momentum of the match
i cant see immediate tactical shots but by attack the pawn on e5 you put massive pressure on the center, and you also threaten pushing up to f5 gaining a permanent spatial advantage on the kingside. I think combinations would have opened up from there
Originally posted by AThousandYoungI actually like 13.Bh6.Of can see only 1 of the 'many ways' to defend against it,Ne8,the move that was played.
13. Bh6 did get him to put his Knight on the back rank, so it ended up advantageously for me in this game. But I believe you when you say it was weak.
It would be premature if it's meant to be a mating attack, but I don't think that was the objective.

actually i analyzed more and Bh6 was the best move...
that being said i think now you played very well until move move 16. f3
that move gave black a sharp initiative, after 16. exf5 you still have considerable pressure on black and can continue with the initiative

In the words of a master, Nh5 would be 'a very weak move'.
What would you do after Qg4?
I wish all of my very weak moves won at least a pawn or if defended right, drove a knight out of the middle of the board.
