Thikn these should be the next white moves? I can't see anything else of merit on move 19?
It doesn't work

After 19. Q:e4

Black free their queen from pin by 19. ... Qc5
and next move they can take their knight to the safe place.

So white will be exchange down, and maybe in best case they will get an extra pawn - but it's not enough for win, they even must prove to be worth of draw then.

And White has two Bishops for an inactive Rook and is in a much better position. His Queen commands the open file, and the Rook and Bishops have open lines. Black's position is quite passive, the Rook on a8 might as well not be there.

OK - by now only two interesting positions left (as I get new ones - I will publish them).
Here is one of them.

Game 1535553

Nallapuh played against me with a rare Caro-Kann (more exactly anti Caro-Kann) line - 1. e4 c6 2. d3
Overall we got a strange position - in which both of us - I guess- knew little how to play further, so I cowardly offered the draw, and as in other game Nallapuh won, he accepted my offer.

Here is the situation after 25. a5

I answered 25. ... Rg7, but computer shows that I had better move (moves consequence) after which I would have a good advantage. Try to find it:

Black to move

26.Nf3 Qb2
27.Ne2 Qxb5

He overlooked the queen move to b2, a simple fork that allows Black to win a pawn.

Guys - you make my confidence go deep down😳

You are right with both decisions.

Although tactical 25. ... Bb4 is nice (and more efficient), but seems that pragmatic 25. ... Qb2 was pretty much enough (yeah... yeah... simple fork)

ShjT - not only I missed it during game - I even overlooked it in analysis.

So thank you both.

OK - wait a bit for a last one.

Here is the last for some period (hope that not long enough).

Taken from the challenge between C-K DL clan and Freethinkers.

rwingett was playing against LetzROQ (LetzROQ won 😀).
But the whole game was very calm (and even dull).

Game 1576035

The most interesting moment was when with a pawn down White missed a one-chance occasion to force a draw. It happened after 32. ... Rg8

Please show not just one move , but prove why this is draw (computer BTW shows exactly 0.0)

So - white to move

So

Ill edit when i remember

Ow yeh

35. Qa8

And it looks like a white win 😕

Your idea is correct, but

after 33. Qh7+ Rg7 34. Qh8

white have at least 4 moves preventing checkmate

1) 34. ... Qd7 - and it doesn't lose even after 35. Qa8 though the game would slip out of Black's control (I wouldn't go for it)
2) 34. ... Qf8
3) 34. ... Rg8 (this will lead to move repetition)
4) 34. ... f5

So, 1) unclear/ 3) is a draw

What with 2) and 4) ?

Not sure 😕

34...f5 White could play Re8 or I THINK f4, not completely sure. Ah yes it does work.

I think that you are right.

After white puts their pawn to f4 they can afterwards (depending on what black does) check with queen on e8 and put their rook to e5 (supported with f4 pawn).

Due to good pawn structure white wouldn't let black any chance for attack - only meaningless checks in some variations.

OK - now a break - till I have something fresh and interesting.
