Someone asked if there was an Ebinburgh Opening?

Schiller has named a variation of the Caro Kann the
Edinburgh Variation because it was played 'once' at the
British Championships held in Edinburgh in 1986.

But I put forward a new Edinburgh Variation.

It starts from this position.

Yes the Black King & Queen are on the wrong square.

A game was played like this at the Edinburgh Congress in error
and I thought I would never see the correct score so composed this
possibility.

However I did get the exact score of the game a few days later.

I cannot show it because Black castles! but it is here and
the whole incredible story.

I had to show at as a moving gif thing. It's not long.

Amazing. Quite possibly the first recorded game of Fischer Chess
to be played in a real chess tournament.

OK Robbie - you now show a Glasgow Opening.

What white needs is a lawnmower.
