I recently played a Symmetircal English game with MotownDave and it was really not going anywhere. Game 1680211 After 35 moves, we agreed on a draw. Any ideas as to how we could have improved our winning chances, because as it is, I can't really find improvements. Half the game was out of database anyway.

I don't know, all the moves you played were very solid, you definitely had some alternatives but most of them were risky. If two players know any line very well it becomes very hard to win in correspondence.

Interesting. I'm quite curious as to how Black would have recovered from the retardation of his knight after 17. b5, but I doubt there's much in it for White except a slightly tepid kind of schadenfreude.
