I really thought this thread was going to be about something else... Disappointing.

I would post a game where I give mate with my knight but my knights are kamikaze knights and usually are gone by the time mate comes around.

Game 2535038 Perhaps not the best example [the result of move 13/-f5!?? ,when rook c8 was better, indeed almost anything would have been!]nevertheless a fair example of how useful a knight really can be ,when all other pieces fail to do the same job?😲

Not quite sure about the "Epic masterpiece" as well as a few other games. Though some sacs truly have the beauty and are sound, many others simply look like dropping pieces. o.O

Nice mates. I enjoy the power of the horsey and just love knight mates (smothered or similar )

Here's a silly game I played earlier today. There were an odd number of players at the junior tournament my son was playing in so I gave the extra player a game in one round. He played well until I resorted to a cheap trick.

The key word was "by" so he obviously want claiming it... The fact that you deduced it was by morphy should have led you to the conclusion that Paul morphy is the pride and sorrow of chess.

Ps. I only remember him being called that vaguely and it could just be my brain playing tricks.

those mates are always beautiful 🙂

your opponent has to think about what just happened when you do that 🙂
