Ok, I think I'm going to put my pride (albeit not my money, because I'm broke) where my mouth is.
I challenge anyone of roughly equal ability (by which I'll be generous and describe as under 1500) to take black against me and play the French, either here or at FICS (with time control 30 15 or higher) 1. e4 e6 2. d4 d5, at a reasonable rate (ie not 50 games at once).
And I believe, and am hereby publically stating, that I will win the vast majority of the games, allowing for blunders.

unfortunately i don't play French at all, and I'm at my game limit, but I'm very interested to see how you go in your challenge to prove your point. maybe when I have a game available, I'll think about challenging you using the french. keep us posted on your progress will you?

I've never played the French in my life so I think it'll be interesting to try this out. Question - at what point are we allowed to deviate from the orthodox line? after 2 moves or 10?

Hanging the knight = bigger blunder. I simply forgot the rook was there.
I WAS 2 pawns up until then though, and your kingside was truly messed up 😀 My H pawn was about to go on a long and menacing trip until I dropped the ball.
