Click it without delay.
I didn't like it when you could click skulls when your opponent was on vacation but there is no excuse for that now and if I can manage not to lose any games on time in over 2 years membership despite being away from a computer at times for over 2 weeks there is no excuse.
If you are taking your games seriously the skulls won't come up and if you don't take it seriously you deserve to lose.

If I've struck up a converstation with the opposition, I will not click the skull, I have had repeated opportunities to do so and still haven't given that scenario away for few days,' I'm afraid his skull is dead meat at first opportunity.. :-)
Anything "official" - clan or tournament - I click the skull and expect anyone else to do the same to me. If it is a friendly game I will leave that skull there until I get bored which may take a very long time. My thinking is that there is something besides the game at stake in a clan or tournament game and the system will do the skull clicking for me if I delay too long. On the other hand, I play friendly games for other reasons - so I or my opponent (or both) can learn something, to test a theory or just for fun - and those reasons would not be best served by winning on time.

When the skull appears beside one of my games, what is the proper etiquette to claim the timeout win?
Should you message the opponent first and offer them one last chance to move or just go ahead and claim the win?
Thoughts/comments??
Someone timed me out my first game, but hey, I didn't move.

It is my unfortunate task to 'timeout' my longest lasting game here, 16mths, I've given it long enough but it's a shame....which is the point, I know it has purpose but it just doesn't sit easy with me...a few messages and nothing, he must be busy but he certainly utilised the 'vacation flag' to its max' lol, waiting sometimes 7 weeks for a move on a 21+28 day affair, another 5 here and there but I let it go. Not the first instance of the 'skull' rearing its ugly head in this game but I'm hopeful of setting up an exactly copied positional set piece with no penalty. Ohh well.........
