I just read at chessbase.de that a Bulgarian journalist who was a member of Topalov's team in Elista has published a book about the games in Elista, or rather about Kramnik's toilet visits*. The book has just come out. Funny timing if there should be something to the cheating accusations against Topalov.

has anyone read the Danailov's reply to cheating accusitations. very weird how he does not provide any explanation for his strange behaviour during rounds two and three in wijk an zee, but instead tries to promote their new book and talk about what happened in Elista.

This seems to be a big storm in a teacup. Wijkan Zee like most modern tournaments enjoys the use of CCTV and so no one is bothering to check this before assuming the worst. Perhaps this is why chess will never reach the heights of tennis if this is the sort of paranoia that spectators will see.
From now on top events will be played in a large glass room. The contestants will have to play naked and also be completely shaved. Before entering the players will undergo a thorough body cavity search. The clear acrylic toilet will be in one corner of the room. All bodily waste will be collected and examined thoroughly to assure that they are not trying to transmit information through their stool. High powered radio frequency interference transmitters will be in place to assure that information is not transmitted to receivers implanted n the players skulls.
Of course, by FIDE decree there will be only one 'approved' playing room. Where will this room be? Where else, Elista!
