Anytime black can force an advantage out of an opening that is a refutation of said opening... 😕

In the most analyzed openings white either keeps the advantage he inherited at the beginning or black barely equalizes. If black is getting a decent advantage then that opening needs to be trashed because it has been refuted.

...or you have to find a new (better) line

This must have been a simul. Keres played awfully. Who is Orlando Mestre? I know he was from Cuba, but how strong was he?

I believe it was a clock simul.

Just wanted to show that the opening position was not not new.
Everything has been tried before - there is nothing new under the Sun.

I agree; 1...e5 is much better and not as passive as d6.

Any time I see someone who's not particularly high rated try to create their own opening, it generally is and looks quite bad. This is certainly no exception. I'd concentrate on learning about tactics, endings, middlegame strategy, and less on being a pioneer. If you like hypermodern openings, there are plenty of great choices that have proven their worth.

    I agree with this.

I'm not so sure about this part. In my experience, people learn a lot about what makes an opening really work by trying to make up their own. And it keeps things fun. My advice to the original poster would be more like "Try it, and see how it works".

Most of time I do not lose because of my opening, but because of a blunder.

Good Game - it transposed into a 4 pawns attack v The King's Indian reversed
when White should have played d3 and c4.

    I loved your pawn centre.

The best part was that you were able to put it to good use. I loved how the pawns just marched down the board and made it look like they were totally unstoppable.

...but subpar opening play leads to a game that is more difficult to play which leads to one being more apt to make mistakes/"blunders".

I guess this proves that you have to play something active, and try to disrupt the center maybe b4 or c4?
