I tried a clan once and find tournaments to be better for a couple reasons.

1. you can control when you sign up and get more games added. This way you don't find yourself overwelmed with more games than you can manage.

2. If you win a tounament then you get a little trophy icon in your profile, where if a clan wins the clan gets a trophy whether you won, lost or even participated.


I would be interrested in a clan like FabianFnas mentions where there is mentoring and coaching available. That I do see as an advantage. Anyone know of any clans that do this? I would be willing to join and coach people with a lower rating as long as someone with a better rating was willing to coach me also.
