Anyone interested in following this set piece can check it out. I start the game minus one knight, against flexmore, and hey if I lose I won't post anything negative in the forums, even against newbies, for 1 whole month :-). Game 1604738

Can I persue you to give up a queen against me for another month?

Knight odds - WOW. Thats either amazing confidence or stupidity. Wasn't Morphy known for doing that?

Just looked it up and he gave Staunton pawn and move odds. He did give knight odds to an American named James Thompson (supposedly a top 12 American at the time)

Pretty arrogant,aren't you?
It's just a way to make the game more interesting.

The "wow" doesn't sound very arrogant to me. Isn't the original post more arrogant?

Obviously I was referring to him talking about "stupidity".
I played some games with flexmore giving me knight odds and I don't see why it's a stupid thing.
On top of that set piece games are unrated,so I don't see where the problem is.

Flexmore is well known (or should be) for wanting to play set piece games like this, and offers odds based on the ranking of his opponent.

So would everybody stop carrying on about 'arrogance' and just address the original post?

What's the matter....playing in banded tournaments 700+ below your rating not thrilling enough for you?

true ...

... but ...

... i just revived my old thread - in the opponents forum ....

TRACK is a 2200 player - rook odds is fair ... with knight odds i should be the underdog ... TRACK is the favourite here ....

but do not fear - i have a lot of tricks ready (for someone of my rating) 😀

I was unaware he did this. I also don't see how my post was arrogant. My 'wow' was because I found Trackheads gift of a night arrogant.
