Does it have any sense to believe to anyone rated above 1800 ?
I think 1800 is too low for suspicion threshold. considering I'll be there in less than a year (hopefully) 🙂.

Why do you have such a roller coaster rating history, Ivan?
It's due to three or four massive resignations (I started more games than I could possible handle), I was blitzing all my games. I was playing too many lower rated player opponents. So when I would lose one game, I would start three new to compensate the rating fall 😛 Eventually, I was overloaded, several times, started to lose more and more so I resigned all my games in disgust and said to me I will never play again on this site.

The problem is that in that period I didn't play for the beauty of the game but as a escape from real life problems so I played 8 hours a day or more blitzing and playing like moron.

Now that I changed my style( I play carefully and think deeper ), my rating goes up as I've always expected it will if I only managed to balance well the quantity and quality of my games.

Well, that's a good explanation. People would accept that if you stated it in your profile.

When your rating is up and stable, then people are more happy to play with you.

When someone is challenging me, I always do a research of him, mainly by looking at his graph history, perhaps I also look at some of his games. If I don't like what I see, then I politely reject his kind challenge.

What are engines, and how do they work?

Engines are chess programs on your computer that find the best move so you don't have to think by yourself. Considered cheating.

Another bloody cheat obsession thread? Don't you people have better things to do? It's enough to make me want to cancel my subscription. Oh, I just did.

Before no1 gets here I'll say it for him. Good riddance.

I hope you don't go. Forget No1!

and best we don't even look at these threads. They regurgitate the same old c$%@ every time and all the c£$^@=$s have a wonderful time justifying themselves and thinking "aren't we clever, we haven't been caught (yet!)"

Why worry about it?

The mental energy is better spent on the position at hand rather than speculating exactly how the opponent came by their move. Those players at the higher end of the rating graph are more difficult to beat that those at the lower end. That doesn't change however they generate their moves. If there comes a move you do not understand my advice is to sit there until you do. Worry about what you are doing rather than others. Trust everyone or no one as you see fit and play accordingly.

The site has a rule 3b and a mechanism to report suspected infringements. Use it. Don't worry about it.

I get your point. I would personally never play person with graph like mine unless it's forced (clan/tournament game) or unless I know the player well.

Maybe true. This theme is way too recycled. I won't start this kind of threads again. I started it because I was interested in the topic after some PMs I've received.

Many people may consider that jumping before being pushed 😛

Why cancel your sub after two years?

ahhh but not by all, as i have stated previously engine use is considered to be a badge of honor by some, databases, opening books, etc.
