After all recent discussions about cheaters and ineffective system to detect them, after all dubious opponents and all cheating paranoia in the air do you trust to anyone on this site anymore ? What is your criteria of determining which player is genuine ?

Does it have any sense to believe to anyone rated above 1800 ?

I surely don't want to play an opponent worth 1750+ but having less than 1100 in rating. If I win, I get one lousy point, if I lose (and the odds favours that it might happen( I lose 30 points. Bad business any way.
But even when you have 1800 and we start a game, who knows where your rating is when we end the game? Your rating history says that I don' ...[text shortened]... I do my correction in my head.
Why do you have such a roller coaster rating history, Ivan?
The problem is that in that period I didn't play for the beauty of the game but as a escape from real life problems so I played 8 hours a day or more blitzing and playing like moron.
Now that I changed my style( I play carefully and think deeper ), my rating goes up as I've always expected it will if I only managed to balance well the quantity and quality of my games.

When your rating is up and stable, then people are more happy to play with you.
When someone is challenging me, I always do a research of him, mainly by looking at his graph history, perhaps I also look at some of his games. If I don't like what I see, then I politely reject his kind challenge.

Another bloody cheat obsession thread? Don't you people have better things to do? It's enough to make me want to cancel my subscription. Oh, I just did.
Before no1 gets here I'll say it for him. Good riddance.
and best we don't even look at these threads. They regurgitate the same old c$%@ every time and all the c£$^@=$s have a wonderful time justifying themselves and thinking "aren't we clever, we haven't been caught (yet!)"

The mental energy is better spent on the position at hand rather than speculating exactly how the opponent came by their move. Those players at the higher end of the rating graph are more difficult to beat that those at the lower end. That doesn't change however they generate their moves. If there comes a move you do not understand my advice is to sit there until you do. Worry about what you are doing rather than others. Trust everyone or no one as you see fit and play accordingly.
The site has a rule 3b and a mechanism to report suspected infringements. Use it. Don't worry about it.
Originally posted by FabianFnasI get your point. I would personally never play person with graph like mine unless it's forced (clan/tournament game) or unless I know the player well.

Why cancel your sub after two years?
