In order for it to be mate in one, it seems to require a double check like N-d3+ and mate.
You could try N-C6 + but that allows Rd1-d6, stopping the one moveness thing.
N-g6 double check allows K-f5 hidey hole.

But what puzzle thingy are you talking about?

Hi Sonhouse,

If you click on the bar under the puzzle it takes you to the 'Puzzle Page'
a brand new feature. You can leave comments etc...

if you use the Reply and Quote option you will see:

[uzzleid]33[/puzzleid] (I've removed the first 'p' in puzzle so you can see it.)

change the 33 to any other number you get a new puzzle.

Here is number 44.

This is an excellent feature!!
I'm rubbish at the moment but I hope to improve.
Mate's in 13 moves and above?
Can people really see this far in advance or is it progressive thinking?

Actually N-g6 is deemed to be correct while N-d3 isn't. i commented to that effect on the puzzle.

This one involves a promotion, but when one promotes the pawn nothing seems to happen, it didn't tell me I was wrong and it didn't put up the widget showing I'd solved it:

Puzzle not available/not published
Spoiler - the solution I tried was:
1. Nb6+ Ka6 (if 1. ... Ka4 2. Ra3#.) 2. b8 = N#
