Apparently this is not getting anywhere.I'd hate to see such a good idea go to waste,so I'll be the first to step up as a 'mentor'.I'm new at this, but I think I should be able to help people up to a rating of 1400.I regularly get whooped by 1500's,so they're already to good for me to help 'em.
I can handle up to 10 unrated or set piece games wit ...[text shortened]... ow my example so that I don't get swamped with requests for the rest of my life 🙂
Sir Lot.

I would love to have some friendly games with a good chess player that will help me improve my play.
David helped me some time ago, but I would love for the help of Mephisto or Prad or Olav.
If anyone can, I would appreciate it 🙂

Sir Lot.
why don't you just grab one of the mentees who have requested mentorship and post that here?
that way other mentors will not take the same person.
thanks again!

If you choose to do so Sir Lot, I have already started training games with usmc7257 and FNM, so if you are interested in doing this, I suggest that you take another player. I am sure that usmc7257 and FNM would also like to have your help, but I think it is better to help all a bit, than some very much.

Sander

I'm having a game with Pulsatilla and Knight77 tried to challenge me,but I forgot to adjust my game limit settings.I messaged him,so I assume he'll challenge me again soon.
this is wonderful tejo and sirlosealot!
thank you for getting this started from the mentor side!!
mateulose and timmy, i am really too occupied in the other forum right now to do you justice - i wish i weren't.
however, if things work out, i'll be happy to work with both of you.
hopefully, someone others will step forward sooner and you won't be kept waiting.

For whatever reason, I seem to be a carrer 1200-1300 player. I think I've only gone above that rating once (and few back again within a matter of days). -I would also be interested in a good mentor in order to improve my game. I'm not sure if my problem is a lack of discipline or just not seeing the board as I should, or just saying, "Damn the torpedoes, full speed ahead," and moving on with what I want to do without fully investigating its consequences. If anyone has the time and energy, and is interested in helping a lowly tyro, then I'm your man. Thanks ahead of time

I think many users of this site would appreciate any mentorship being made public so they can follow along with you.
Perhaps you could tag your thread titles with something like: "Mentor:", "Advice:", or "Ask <mentor name>:"
also it might be nice to regularly post who hasn't been mentorated.
i think that these are the 4 right now:
