Ok, First, I wanna make it clear what this board is here for. It's here to talk about chess. Theory, Openings, Middlegame, Endgame, In General, such as the US Championship, FIDE Unification, Nakamura beating the tar out of Karjakin, etc.. That much is probably clear to everyone. Now, what this forum is NOT for: Rants and Raves. It's ok to rant and rave about how you blew this game and post a link, ask for suggestions, etc. But this is forum is not for complaining about how bad you are, how bad your life is, blah and starting a flame war. Really, this forum has nothing to do with personal problems at all. I think everyone who will read this knows exactly what this is about. So please, don't waste your time ranting and raving on this forum any more, because I will scoop it up so fast you won't even get responses, because I think that is partially what this is about. No need to reply, this has been confirmed by numerous amounts of people. Some RHP'ers come to this forum to get away from the crap that goes on elsewhere and to talk chess, and frankly this forum is slowly being converted also. So please, keep it chess related in here people. Have a nice day.

If the idea being put forth is that someone's posts should be censored 'cuz people would rather not read them, then I don't agree. Last I checked, no guns have been placed to anybody's head to make them read any thread; we all know who you're complaining about so if you see a thread started by him: DON'T READ IT!! I'm coming to the opinion that's it useless to give him chess advice, but most of his threads do have game analysis and/or chess discussion so they can be useful to players who want to seperate the wheat from the chaff. Those who don't want to engage in this chore don't have to. Even his whining and poor atitude are instructive in a negative sense as a lesson to players on how NOT to think about chess; so even those posts seem somewhat relevant to chess and proper in the Chess forum. If you don't want to read 'em, don't; but I'm not jumping on board any popular movement to censor threads for such dubious reasons.
I don't think these reasons are dubious at all. I think everyone can agree as whole that his rants give the chess forum a negative vibe. I didn't say that he should post about how bad his chess game is, because that is chess related, but his social and economic situation has nothing to do with chess and shouldn't be posted. That should be modded. Would the posers and puzzles forum not want posts about abortion out of there forums? It is off topic and really depressing due to the fact that mateulose doesn't stop and really spams this forum with crap. I don't think anyone here can debate that point.

In the site ideas forum, Russ has said that the ownus is on ourselves to censer these posts through the alert post feature, Its not nice to gang up on somebody, but I think we can make an exception for mateulose in these non chess threads in the chess forum. Who is in ?
