Btw. That guy is good blitz player and he also plays good in time trouble - in next round being in time trouble he managed to win game in which he had lost and later dead draw position.

P.S. If ...[text shortened]... one told me that with 5 sec inc. I will not be able to win that endgame I would laugh about him.
It happened to me last weekend as well. In the final game I had a position where I had a good attack and an exchange up but he managed to out blitz me and get a draw which pushed me down to second place.

I am in the U160 section.

Very true - nothing at stake in bullet chess and movement is
shifting mouse fraction of inch and clicking.

Know how you feel after chucking a win. Don't mind losing but to
beat yourself is different.

Console self with knowledge that Keres said all Rook endings are drawn.

Let game go through on auto-pilot got a 'ting'. (never ignore a 'ting'😉.
Stopped and went back to 'ting'.

Instead of Bxf7+ how about Qc7 it looks rather strong and I see a
few nice tricky traps based on Bxf7+. depending on what he plays.

'ting' can be anything a trap, danger, a good move, a beautiful variation, something out of the ordinary, a fantasy line.
It's a gut feeling, instinct, hard to explain.

Non 'tingers' laugh, fellow 'tingers' nod.

Fred Coombes - the guy in the u100 section.

He used to be a member of my club and is well known in the area.

A few years ago there used to be 4 rapidplay tournaments every month in London. He played more games than any one else in the country one year - well over 200 30-30 games that season.

And that's not counting standard league games etc.

Incredible. Though a friend of mine, Ewan Campbell in the 80's played
something like 320 full serious games in one year.
Most were weekenders with league and club championship matches thrown in.

The funny thing I recall is his grade. After all the wins, draws & losses
he went up by about 15 points.

Actually before 30.Bxf7+ I spent 10 minutes to choose the move which will finish him faster. I looked also at 30.Qc7 but i was not sure what to do after 30....Re8 or 30....Rf8. when I noticed my clock I stopped these calculations and played the simplest move.
