The figure will be a lot less than 30% - more like 10% have posted sometime
in the past and 2% post more than twice a week.

I have 39 opponents, of which 20 have never posted, 15 have posted at least but not in the last month, and 4 who have posted in a public forum in the last month. Assuming they form a representative sample this gives 51% never post, 38% occasionally post, and 10% of players post regularly in the forums.

My criterion was that they'd posted in the last month, and there are a completely different set of people posting in each forum, so it's not impossible. My sample was of people who I'm playing and may be subject to bias, I play mostly in tournaments and clan games so with 2 exceptions all my opponents are subscribers and therefore may be more likely to post as they are more committed to the site.

He has just two games on the go, - the one against woodworm that many of us are watching closely: Game 4054880 and one against Nowakowski (User 446247): Game 6698090.

Nowakowski is on a very long non-losing streak (as is Weyerstrass, of course) and has improved enormously in the last year (e.g. see Game 5378643).
Its a pity these "correspondence chess grandmasters", do not post on the forums. GM's like Anand, Kramnik, Topalov like to talk a lot. Some of them like to talk too much but that's besides the talk (ahem point).

hi - there are no CC GM's on this site. RW (Weyerstrass) is an IM (ICCF).

It's interesting to note that Weyerstrass is not a particularly successful player in the ICCF.

The latest ICCF rating list contains 6597 players, and with his rating of 2348 he is at position 1960 in this list.

That's because they allow engine use, duuh, for Weyerstrass that's David vs. Goliath

But Weyerstrass must have beaten countless engines on this site and he hasn't lost to a single one. For example his score in the eight games he played against the now banned SeaDevil was 5.5-2.5.

Do the players in the ICCF tournaments have better engines than Fritz and Rybka?

And that's assuming that Weyerstrass doesn't use engines himself in ICCF tournaments (which is completely allowed by their rules).

    Game 6788453

Nice finish, well spotted kaboom sacrifice followed by an oh so "silent" wrap-up 😲
