Yes
You've, uncharacteristically, been on me arse in the general forum in recent weeks for reasons known only to you. Give it a rest, thaughbaer. You're among friends here. Nobody's out to threaten or hurt you. Let's continue any face to face air cleaning you deem necessary in the private venue of personal messages, so as not to further pollute this already active and interesting thread. Thank you.

Well since you've made your ridiculous accusation in public for reasons known only to you perhaps you'd be kind enough to link to one of these threads where I've been "on your arse". Thank you.

It's a game. A wonderful game.
It has the power to make as in the Kubbel study in Thread 147307
stare in awe at the beauty it can create with just a few pieces.
It also has the power to have us laughing like loons at the carry on in
Thread 147260 where onel lad sends his analysis to his opponent
by mistake and another th laughter, it still does.} 10. Qd2 Ngf3+ 11. Bxf3 Nxf3+ 12. Ke2 Nxd2 {Brilliant.}[/pgn]
People need to read GP more- or he needs to write another book.

Now I owe him 3 pints.
Hi Paul.
We learn from our defeats.
It also appears that this is a reverse of what happens if we win.
TERMINATOR2 - mous69 RHP April 2007 Game 3391185
TERMINATOR2 springs the trap on mous69, wins the Black Queen 1-0
Five months later...
TROY 45 - TERMINATOR2 RHP September 2007 Game 4034990
TERMINATOR2 falls into the exact same trap and losses his Queen 1-0
🙂
(just over 80 examples of Black dropping his Queen to this trap on RHP.
.....that is not counting your two.)

Once thing's for sure, the games end much quicker! I don't know what the stats are, but I bet most of the games in the "Checkmate under 20 moves" thread are kingpawn.

Watched a terrific movie this afternoon, "Revolver" set in the casino opulence of Las Vegas. To my surprise one high roller with only three days to live stakes his considerable bankroll and worldly possessions on a chess game with the Mob's ace player. Riveting conversation punctuates the moves of the game which the terminally ill guy wins handily to the chagrin of the mobsters. His final comment, "Something I learned a long time ago is that you only get smarter by playing smarter opponents". I thought of you guys and this thread and inaudibly whispered, "Amen, Jack. You're singing to the choir".
P.S. There was quite a lengthy set of comments by the nearly dead tough guy about the merits of the Jacoby System.
