Yashin and I, both king's gambit players to the extreme, got together on 4 games, and ended up with a dead even score. Two wins for each, one in each color nonetheless. Pieces being sacrificed and/or blundered all over the board. All enjoyable. 🙂

For all you King's Gambiteers, wannabe King's Gambiteers, or just people who like laughing at King's Gambiteers:

Game 663933

Game 663934

Game 663929

Game 663935

Thanks to Yashin for participating in this madness, and to LivingLegend for suggesting it in the first place!

If you have the time, would you show me the continuation of that second game? 29 Qxg2 maybe? And then? Is there a forced mate that I am missing?

Thanks Paul...

King"s Gambit is a fun system. If I was at a tournament, I would probably steer clear of it, but I love trying it out in club games.

You end with a rook vs. a knight and bishop pair. I would have resigned. That is NO contest.

Exactly. White has no chance. With wildly sacrificial lines like that, either you keep the attack going, material regardless, or you lose. If you run out of material to sacrifice and the enemy king isn't either (a) about to get checkmated, or (b) in such a position that you can force a draw by perpetual, it's time to resign.
