    Interesting but why can't white play g4 much earlier in the proceedings.

    White needs to save that move in case Black plays ...b5 after White picks off the Nh8.

    Hmm, was thinking about this over dinner, and it seems like it doesn't matter whether White plays g4 early, or late. In any case, he's got to make two trips to the Kingside, because his K needs to be on b4 when he captures Nh8.

    One question I've not been able to answer is: Why doesn't Black play 155...Kd8, or 156...Kc7, delaying the proceedings?
