Game 2887524

I started this game very carelessly - the reason was opponents low rating. (Only later I found that he had rating about 1800 and lost it due to timeouts). In result i got in completely lost position - my piece sacrifice was obviously incorrect. But I was lucky in this game - opponent defended badly and I could win.

We all do it.

That and assume someone with a rating of 1500 who has never been beaten is indeed rated 1500.

I've learned not to do that. It helped me OTB with my brother-in-law. We had never played chess together and I was sure that he "knew how the pieces moved" but I decided that I wouldn't underestimate him. Payed off. +1 =0 -1 so we're even heh.

Looks to me as if you won on sheer dumb luck. Its almosyt as if he was sleeping when he did 26. Qxa2.

After 26.Rxg6 he`s position was hopeless anyway.

I think your sacrifice was not so terrible. Dont know whether it was soundor unsound, but it definitely caused lot of problems to black. Already after 23.f6 I think you had an decisive advantage.

Rather than play games like that why not set a rating limit. This also occurs on other sites I'm at where people challenge all then, delete accepted challenges below a rating threshold.

I think he shouldn`t take my knight on f5 with pawn.
