I like this win Game 2568065

Here are some comments on the game, from my chess teacher

>Mike, here some comments.

In game Game 2568065 you played rather well. White has no clue about the opening, which he proves with 6.g3?, a totally useless fianchetto in this opening.

6. ... Qa5 nice to see the maneuver from our current game. Better to retreat to c7 after Bd2.

8. ... Bb4? giving up the good bishop for nothing. c5 or Ne7 instead

12. ... why not immediately Qxd4?

19. ... Qxc4 better Ne5 followed by Nxc4

26. ... a5 better Rb2

However I am still extremely happy with the end game.

This game does not deserve a brilliancy prize or anything, it's just the first win for my pet opening.

This isn't a Pirc, it is the Lion defense! You missed a pretty sweet combination at the beginning as well...

You played 6.0-0, but you could have tried..

6.Ng5 ..0-0
7.Bxf7+ ..Rxf7 (forced)
8.Ne6! ..Qe8
9.Nxc7 ..Qd8
10.Nxa8 which leaves this position...

Black has some counter play yet with 10..b5, but regaining equality is technically impossible from this position. WHite need only consolidate and a win is almost certain (errors aside..)

This game has errors (obviously), but the finish is one of my very best. It is also a Lion defense...

Game 2611852-A dutch win for me.. I really enjoyed it.
also is
Game 2350302-where we played the petrov. He had the initiative the whole game, but I played (atleast I felt i did) incredibly and managed to pull a "w" out of it.
EDIT: on the petrov I was rated 1250 and he was 1630ish at the time so I was happy with my win

That is a class game. I really like Rg8 early - changes whole focus of the game

Thanks! It is a thematic move. White has to choose between allowing the knight outpost on f4, or exchanging it and suffering an open file instead. I played it as a waiting move but it turned out to be really strong. 🙂

This is my favourite game so far on this site, for the two crashing moves at the end of the game (I actually saw the combo when I played Rb1)🙂

Well this certainly isn't classy, a bit barbaric, actually, but my most crushing victory yet.
