I'm a 1600-1800 rated player who plays the King's Indian Defense any chance I get (both sides). When I've got access to my pgn archive at home I'll dig my games with it out (it would take forever to try find them on the site and at home I can sort by ECO code).
Believe it or not in this game stayed in played lines almost to the point where I dropped the queen. To make things worse I blundered a piece in the other game against touareg 11 minutes later. I wasn't having a good day.
Game 720375
Here's me playing the white side of the Four Pawns Attack. Then the Cat blundered a queen.
Game 820391
In this game my roaming knight made the difference through the middlegame and in the end sacrificed himself for the winning tactic.
Game 816163
Another knight that harrasses and generally annoys the opponent.
Game 848918
And finally a game in which e4 wasn't played straight away.

The first two scared me. KID loses...KID loses...I was like - the KID keep getting killed? Some defense!
Originally posted by AThousandYoungThe first two were lost to hanging queens not from a flaw in the King's Indian.

KID is definalitly for strong players. I play it a lot, and it requires an exact move order for some lines, and if you misplay it, your crushed. For sure not a good blitz opening unless you know it well.
I seem to do better with open games i/e french, sicilian, etc.
If your a tactical player, try the modern. pirc.
If you like coplicated openings, keep with the KID

Xanthos, in Game 990433, why did you play 7...a6?

Here's a few games of mine with the King's Indian Defense. These were played some time ago. Probably not that great or instructive, but hopefully they are helpful...........
Game 666345
Game 511410
Game 529735
Game 482526

Originally posted by AThousandYoungerr.... I was white in that game. After I played 21 Qb3, black's two connected passed pawn centre couldn't move, as I had fixed them into position. ...d4 loses as the queen is pinned, and ...e4 loses because of Bxe4.

Originally posted by AThousandYoungbtw, I don't really play King's Indian defense as black, so I'm afraid most of the games linked before show me as white, except Game 511410

I think from your earlier post you wanted to see some games where black wins, so I guess you can look at Game 511410 where I decided to play the King's Indian defense (probably my only time I used it)
