How would you describe your chess style?

My style is dry and boring. I prefer playing for minority attacks on the queen side and trying to grind down my opponent in an endgame. A pathetic excuse for a chess player really.

I am looking for an æsthetics, I chose moves more by their beauty and after habit than after evaluation of position. It¨s like composing a mozaik or embroidery. In the backgorund I may recall some pattern from famous games...

So you are a chess artist, interesting. I must be a painter and decorator by comparison.

I go for attacks. Still in 19th century mode🙂 Not as bad as them but I still go for the throat. Take a look at my 13 move mate game for instance.

Hope...

Hope my opponent screws up and that I can see it and take advantage of it.

I lurch from cheapo to cheapo and end either prosecuting an opportune advantage or with a strategically bereft position teetering on the brink of the abyss. If pressed I would claim not to believe in positional chess but appear to play that way sometimes 😀

I prefer to play Black, I love to defend, I avoid main-line theory whenever I can, and I head right for the ending ASAP because that is the one area of the game that most players don't have a clue about.

Its very interesting I was having a debate with a 2100 rated player who claimed that there was no such thing as positional chess.

I try to accumulate small advantages and slowly constrict the opponent's position (unless he gives me a tactical shot to end the game quickly).

Call me a python.
