People, this puzzle is composed by Loyd. It means that all the moves that seem obvious are wrong. At first glance, the solution move for this puzzle looks totally stupid, but after looking more at it, you can't find a way, how black can escape mate in one, although he has many answers to this move. So, as all Loyd's puzzles do, this one also brings you aesthetic pleasure, especially, if you solve it yourself.

1...Bc3+ or 1...Qd2+ spoils that idea.
i.e.
1. Kxe1 Bc3+ 2. Rd2#
1. Kxe1 Qd2+ 2. Rxd2#
Where deathwolf got it wrong was white's second move which is contingent on black's reply to Kxe1
SPOILER ALERT
Look down only if you want to see my solution (which comes with NO garuantees of accuracy)
A sample of possible responses to Kxe1
1. Kxe1 Bc3+ 2. Rd2#
1. Kxe1 Qd2+ 2. Rxd2#
1. Kxe1 Rxd3 2. Qc2#
1. Kxe1 Bxb2 2. Qc2# or Qd1#
The beauty of Kxe1 is that is gives white so many mating possibilities
Qd1, Qc2, any horizontal move for the rook on b2... No reply by black will cover all these possibliities. A very nice puzzle IMO.
