i found some but the russian names are tough, I'm never sure about spelling (especially since many are written different in German, e.g. Alekhin we write Aljechin lol)

I bet the question is to list as many as possible. In that case, there should be at least another requirement indicating how 'known' the player is.

hmm i found 23 so far. plus i saw a few names that i didnt know as chess players, so i didnt count them. if anyone can beat 23 (which im sure someone will), i will look at current fide ranking and search some more then 😉
