I don't understand what all the confusion is about. It is simple math.

36-10 = 26 (we've established that letters can represent numbers)
3+3x3 = 12 (you have to multiply first)
5x5x0 = 0 (anything x0 = 0!)
20-15= 5

Add them up. 26+12+0+5 = 43!!!

It doesn't say you should add the results, it says you should add the numbers.
