There is another serious intellect here, his handle is ThudandBlunder, and posts on other puzzle sites also. The ...[text shortened]... y letter of the AB. There are unused letters, like no X, Z, J. That should cut the odds a bit.

No that is not correct. I used a key that hides the real letters pretty well.
