All I can see is 1.Bxg7+ Kxg7 2.Qb2+ winning a pawn and getting an R on the 7th (if Black should trade Q's). Not very exciting, but White has more weak pawns to harvest, so he's probably winning.
The ability to spot when your opponent makes a minor slip and grab the opportunity and eventually win the game...
Your solution is right and note that the trap 1.Qxc5?? Td8+! is losing for white. (Tajmanov-Darga, Moscow 1956)
