The 'n' here is odd (regardless of what day we are talking about), so n/2 is not a whole number of flowers.
Regardless, in this example, day 50 would be the first day on which there are more than "n/2 flowers", since generally, if n represents the total number of flowers after day d, then there are only (n-1)/2 total flowers present at the end of day d-1.
