    Good for you. Now I have heard that she closed down does anyone know if that is true and if so will it ever reopen again. Like is it being worked on.

    The actual statue is still closed for security reasons. It has been since September 11, 2001. Ellis and Liberty Isand have been re-opened to tourists. The Washington Monument has been roped off to tourists...they are allowed to visit it in small groups as long as they leave all bags and other suspect items behind.
