Which came first. The chicken of the egg

The first chicken egg was warmed by its not quite a chicken yet mother. DNA mutates from one generation to the next (Mother chicken to eggs it lays) but not when the egg hatches into a chicken. So all chickens come from chicken eggs, but at some point a chicken egg came from a bird that wasn't quite a chicken yet. It's called evolution.

This thread doesn't really need another posting, but I can't stand to let the wrong answer stand as the last word.

The chicken crossed the road so people like us would ask the question. chickens are much smarter than we give them credit for and this chicken in particular decided to perplex the human race with his antics. thats something to be proud of, 6 billion+ people duped by a chicken, that was later eaten on 1 such individuals table where the truth was digested and subsequently shat on the other side of the road.

All birds were first reptiles And reptiles lay eggs too. but reptiles use to be a much more simple organisim that bread by cell separation with formed a new life. in other words they were sexless and CLONED it self. Then after millons of years as it became more complex it developed egg laying. with was after the invention of sex. A billoin years ago Animals did not have sex. becouse they split the cells instead. Then God realised that he had to invent sex to create a bigger jeans pool. Allowing for much more veriety of animals And insects. this also helped plant life to spreed And varie.

what does any of that have to do with why the chicken crossed the road? are you saying that the chicken crossed the road because way back forever ago he was a lizard? because if it is, im telling you thats a bunch of snake oil. that chicken didnt give 2 snakes about who his ancestors were, he just wanted to get across the road before being eaten by one so we could all live to tell about it. apparently he made it.

Alright, I'll finish this stupid discussion: The egg came first because dinosaurs laid eggs millions of years before chickens evolved. Dinosaurs lay eggs when chickens dont exist:This discussion has obviously gone too far on opinions alone while the answer was obvious to all people who looked at the big picture instead of the minute details.

You point is valid, but not the answer.
The question is what came first, the chicken or the chicken egg?
If you doubt that, ask the person you first posted the question.

The answer no matter how you look at it is the Chicken came first. (not because it is a male either, the male sex was a mutation that came later. The male reproductive organs are essentially a simplified and inside-out version, of female reproductive organs.)

YES - Eggs have been around long before Chickens or their Chicken-eggs as a productive method.

ANY creature that reproduces with eggs, comes before their egg. Because the egg forms around the embryo

The answer will be different for sea creatures or other creatures with different reproductive methods involving eggs. But the creature that lays the egg, always come before its egg.

You can say God crated the chicken first, fine.
You can say god created the creature that evolved into the chick, fine.
You can say God had nothing to do with it, fine.

In nature, living things evolve through changes in their DNA. In an animal like a chicken, DNA from a male sperm cell and a female ovum meet and combine to form a zygote -- the first cell of a new baby chicken. This first cell divides innumerable times to form all of the cells of the complete animal. In any animal, every cell contains exactly the same DNA, and that DNA comes from the zygote.

Chickens evolved from non-chickens through small changes caused by the mixing of male and female DNA or by mutations to the DNA that produced the zygote. These changes and mutations only have an effect at the point where a new zygote is created. That is, two non-chickens mated and the DNA in their new zygote contained the mutation(s) that produced the first true chicken. That one zygote cell divided to produce the first true chicken.

Prior to that first true chicken zygote, there were only non-chickens. The zygote cell is the only place where DNA mutations could produce a new animal, and the zygote cell is housed in the chicken's egg. So, the egg must have come first.

It depends on how you define a chicken-egg. Was the egg that the first chicken hatched from a chicken egg or not?
