    What about 1Qe3?

    1 ..Bf2 2 Qf1+ Be1 3 Qf3 mate

    1 .. Nf2 2 Qf3 mate

    Or 1 Qb5 or 1 Qc4, which can be followed up by 2 Qf1 and 3Qf3 mate against any combination of legal moves for black.

    There is no Qf3# unless you get rid of bPg4.

    Thanks - I had the pawn the wrong way up in my head. Doh!

    curseknight - I meant Qd3 not Qe3, but I was still way wrong because of SwissGambit's point.
