This is kind of like a vertical welder, liquid metal just added to the last batch in a line.
This looks like it could be used in space, not sure about that because I don't know the underlying technology, like whether it requires argon or some such as a background gas, but if so it may not be needed in space.
This is a completely different technology from the older ink jet style 3D printers.
