    The professor in question seems to be a well-meaning person as I understand the newsweek article, which was the critical point:

    But politiciation of science is not really a science topic.

    And indeed I moved my post to the forum "Debates". The point is that politicizing science in the present case was not directly related to the content of the scientist's scientific investigations.

    Just curious, what is your field of study?

    My son in law has a Phd in statistical physics, lives in Brazil with my daughter who has MA in music, they both teach at uni in Brazil, two kids now.
