    No, not scientists but people I have heard seem to think if we bug out of Earth and form colonies we will survive some catastrophe on Earth, whether it is the big hit from a large asteroid to mega volcanizm, The science word is we won't survive much longer than we would have had we just stayed on Earth. Still, it would be great to at least see other life forms and my personal question, would life found on planets of other suns be based on anything like our DNA or would it assume some completely different shape to store cell data?
