New ad hominem attacks on Darwin himself, tied to Nazi's, right there they lose the argument.....
i tried to find the article, but could, not. i remember once arguing with Andrew Hamilton, that Darwin was a Nazi, although i never actually envisioned that people took the argument seriously. There is a very tenuous link, of course, which has nothing to do with Darwin himself, whom i gather was a religious man, but rather Herbert Spencer, who argued that Darwinian evolutionary theory should be applied to society, and indeed it found its outlets in euthanasia programs in Victorian England and even in The United States, in economics and imperialism, even as a viable excuse for enslavement. I need comment no further on its influence on the Nazis, which is well documented. I repeat there is no link to Darwin himself, before its misconstrued, Herbert Spencer took his theory and applied what is now termed, 'social Darwinism.'
