If light from beyond the visible universe has not reached us yet how does anybody know the universe is between 13 and 14 billion years old as some people claim?

If we do not know how big the universe is how can anybody know how old it is?

Light from beyond the visible universe will never reach us because that part of the universe is expanding away from us faster than light can traverse the expansion.

The age of the universe is estimated based on the rate of expansion from a finite point at the Big Bang.

some galaxies are so far away, that their light can't reach us now. But at the big bang everything was extremely close ....all galaxies were close neighbors. As time went on, and the actual universe expanded , making some of those same galaxies no longer visible. So far, we know of only one universe, containing unknown trillions of galaxies...

So are you claiming that the universe had a center point (singularity) that the whole universe expanded from? If so, where is the center of the universe?

Please excuse my skepticism, but how does anyone know that the universe is expanding faster than the speed of light? Also, is there a center of the universe or is that a myth?

If some galaxies are so far away, that their light can't reach us now how do you know how old the universe is? For example, how do you know that galaxies 16 billion light years away has not reach us yet so we are underestimating how old the universe is? Isn't it premature to conclude the distance of the furthest galaxies from us?

Do we understand all other possibilities from lack of information at this time? Do we know much about the mysteries of function, the machine. At this point I feel we’re way too tiny to even guess but you have to start somewhere.

The assertion that the universe is expanding faster than the speed of light is an extraordinary claim that deserves extraordinary evidence. We have all been told that nothing can travel faster than the speed of light and now we are told the universe's expansion can.

Where is the evidence?

Here is something I noticed from the link below:

"The cosmic microwave background (CMB, CMBR) is microwave radiation that fills all space."

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cosmic_microwave_background

All space? If we cannot see all space how can that possibly be a provable statement? And if the CMB is not at the center of the universe how can anyone possibly be sure it is the remnant of the big bang?

I have a problem with people stating that they know the big bang happened as if it is a fact. They point to the CMB as if that is evidence, but is it? People cannot even agree that the big bang started out as a singularity or not. If there was no singularity there is no center of the universe. If there is no known center of the universe how can anybody know how fast the universe is expanding? If nobody knows how fast the universe is expanding everywhere in the universe how can anybody know how old the universe is?

If someone could prove there is a center to the universe that would be a good starting point to determining if expansion is uniform or uneven throughout the universe, but if there is a limit to how far we can see the universe how can anybody conclude that?

Astrophysicists need to stop stating theories as facts. It is annoying. They don't really know. It would be nice if they could admit it.

So does expansion in all directions outrun time, speed of light by an even faster distance traveled?? So can the universe be dated by a circle of expansion around us in this manner described?

If this is the question and debate what is the measuring tape to decide this?

At some point if they travel on/with/combination of a or different mediums that we don’t understand from this creation, forces and on.

I know nothing on it, so throwing stuff out to see what comes up.

That is another thing about scientists. They lie about stuff like claiming Einstein's theory of GR proves black holes exist. It doesn't prove that and never did. Einstein did not even believe they existed back then.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Einstein's_unsuccessful_investigations

Scientists are flawed people just like everybody else. People will make lofty claims and mislead people all for the respect of others. Why else would a scientist falsely claim Einstein's equations prove black holes exist when Einstein himself denied several times that black holes could form?

People sometimes exaggerate their confidence in their assertions to BS people that they are more sure than they really are. It isn't a big conspiracy or anything of the sort. They just want people to think they are smarter than everyone else. Ego often leads to hubris.

When people say they know something that is hard to prove they should be asked how confident they are of it. Is it a claim with low confidence or is it narcissism taking over because of a big ego? It is often the latter and people don't enjoy admitting they are wrong. They will say high confidence when they actually have low confidence in what they are claiming. Nobody admires a person who is unsure of themself no matter how honest they are being. If people respected honesty they would not vote for liars.
