This group report reasonable sized (a few cm²😉 samples of their perowskite solar cell materials being stable over comparativeley long times. This sounds like really good news, though any commercialization is probably years in the future.

They up the stability year by year but still, right now I think they deteriorate after 3000 hours or so, not a useful product yet.
We need more like 30 THOUSAND hours of stability to be a viable product.
Even that would be less than 4 years on the roof.
Silicon I believe is good for 20 YEARS, 160,000 hours.
That is what the final product spec needs to be for peroskvites.
