Soil was generated at a rate twice as fast as thought possible. Good news for regenerating destroyed mountains like we have in Slatington and Palmerton Pa where they mined zinc in WW2 but the vapors from the mines destroyed ALL the vegetation for several miles in all directions and there are some hills there about 1000 feet high and all the vegetation was gone, all the trees, grasses, berries, everything, leaving bare rock. It has been 70 odd years since they stopped mining for zinc here and the trees are just now BEGINNING to come back.

It would be great if they could do that transformation here.
