He practically invented the science of radio astronomy, he built the Jodrell Bank radio telescope in 1957 and was the first guy to track the first satellite, Sputnik, launched Oct. 4, 1957. RIP.

Well... the first guy this side of the Curtain, that is.

A great pioneer. And don't forget, his telescope is still active.
